What is IPv6?

IPv6 is a new generation Internet protocol. The IPv6 protocol was created to replace the current IPv4 protocol. For a connection on the Internet, computers and telephones store the numeric address of the sender and the recipient. Numeric addresses are called Internet protocol addresses. As the number of computers and telephones on an uncontrolled scale has recently increased, a large number of new IP addresses has become necessary. At the time when the resources of IPv4 began to dry up by the Internet Engineering Task Force, the organization that develops Internet technologies, a new IPv6 protocol was created.

IPv6 protocol allows more devices and users to be on the Internet using a 128-bit system.

The IPv4 address is 32 bits long, which is enough to use 4.3 billion unique names.

The IPv6 address is 128 bits long, enough to use 340 trillion unique names.

IPv4 - 124.45.250.2
